Molli Szalai is a Hungarian pianist known for her versatility as both a soloist and chamber musician. Her musical journey has been shaped by numerous successes in international piano competitions and a series of prestigious awards, including the Junior Prima Award (2024), the Rahn Kulturfonds Scholarship (2023), First Prize at the Franz Liszt Center International Piano Competition (2023), Talentum Hungaricum Prize and the Tamás Vásáry Award (2019).

As a soloist and collaborative artist, Molli has performed in some of Europe’s most renowned concert halls, such as Stadtcasino Basel, Royal Scottish Hall in Glasgow, the Grand Hall of the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, Müpa – Palace of Arts, Sir Georg Solti Chamber Hall, the Hungarian Radio Concert Hall, and the Pesti Vigadó in Budapest. Her concerto repertoire includes works by Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Liszt, Ravel, Prokofiev, and Bartók. She has performed with renowned orchestras including the Sinfonieorchester Basel, the Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra, and the Szent István Philharmonic Orchestra.

Born in 1999 in Veszprém, Hungary, Molli began her musical education with Veronika Küronya, later studying under Erzsébet Kőrösiné Belák at the Szent István Secondary School of Music and Performing Arts. She earned her Bachelor’s degree at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music under Attila Némethy before pursuing further studies with Zoltán Fejérvári at the Musik-Akademie Basel. In 2023, she completed her Master’s in Musical Performance, followed by a second Master's degree in Pedagogy in 2025, graduating with distinction and receiving the Award for Best Master's Praxisprojekt from the Walter und Corina Christen-Marchal Foundation.

Molli has benefited from the artistic mentorship of internationally acclaimed musicians such as Arie Vardi, Lilya Zilberstein, Elisabeth Leonskaja, Boris Berman, Robert Levin, Gottlieb Wallisch, Rita Wagner, Tamás Vásáry, and György Pauk. Her chamber music mentors include Anton Kernjak and Claudio Martínez Mehner.

As a passionate chamber musician, Molli has been actively performing since her early years and continues to explore a wide range of chamber and Lied repertoire. She is also a founding member of Duo Flumen with soprano Anna Juniki.

Molli currently lives in Basel, where she combines her artistic pursuits with teaching. Since September 2025, she has been a piano instructor at Musikschule Gutmann in Lörrach and at the BKA Kids Academy in Basel.
